Leader of Govt Commissioner W. Marlin & Head of Study Financing Calvin Mardenborough visit Tallahasee

Commissioner William Marlin and Calvin Mardembrough recently returned from an official visit to the capitol city of Tallahassee Fl. This visit was in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the SXM-Tallahassee Sister City Agreement, which was celebrated on September 23, 2009. To mark this momentous occasion, a number of persons received honors in recognition of their ongoing commitment to the SXM-Tallahassee sister city partnership agreement.

The St. Maarten delegation also made use of the opportunity to resume talks with Tallahassee Community College regarding instate tuition possibilities for St. Maarten Study Financing recipients attending that school. The delegation was able to get a commitment that will allow our students to once again enjoy “Instate Tuition” by the Fall semester of 2010

They also visited the Bond Community Health Center, a federally funded healthcare institution specializing in caring for persons with no or limited health care. Arrangements were made with this facility to provide healthcare to our study financing recipients at no cost to the students.
