In 1985, I started working at the Insular Department of Education after returning from the Netherlands.

Since I began my tenure at the Education Department, I have remained steadfast in my goal: to continue to develop and enhance our study financing program to offer our students the opportunity to upgrade their skills by attaining higher education. This is an especially exciting time for me, as many of the dreams and projects I have envisioned are now reality.

As our Department continues to make technological upgrades, it is our intention to work closely with colleges and institutions and create additional study opportunities for young St. Maarteners. Through the use of this website we intend to facilitate the communication process by ensuring that the information is readily available for our students in particular and the community at large.

Everyone associated with study financing can take pride in the excellence we have achieved thus far, and look forward to a very exciting future.

I shall continue to seek and implement ways to better my Department every day and I aim to surpass even my own high standards of excellence and professionalism that our community has grown accustomed to.
